Batanes has always been atop my list of dream Philippine destinations, and when I was finally able to set foot in it in 2014, it gave me much more than I imagined. Site after site, day after day, Batanes blew my mind and snatched my heart. Perfect was a word I had never used to describe a journey, but that’s exactly what it was. It was perfect. I was afraid that a second trip would ruin all my precious, flawless memories of it.

I simply missed Batanes because it takes my breath away. I appreciate all the little things that the province has to offer. Even though there is no internet, no nightlife, no shopping malls, and no large buildings but still I fell in love with the peaceful place and staggering view. Therefore if you want to experience the best gift of nature, then what are you waiting for, planned and visit Batanes as soon as possible.

Batanes is the northern most province in the Philippines, and also the smallest, both in population and land area (thanks Wikipedia!). Despite its small population and land area, Batanes remains as one of the most-sought travel destination here in the Philippines because of its landscapes, weather (although lagi nadadaan ng bagyo), and most importantly its kind and honest people!

Batanes is a perfect getaway from the hectic metropolis. The remote yet breathtaking island province in the northernmost of the Philippines convinced me to take a quick escape. A shady and showery afternoon didn’t stop me from exploring Batanes’ panoramic views. From the enthralling sceneries of Batan Island to the unspoiled island of Sabtang, Batanes is indeed a paradise on Earth. Apart from its appeal is the kindness and hospitality of the Ivatan people that is worth admiring.

I have often heard people remark that Batanes has the natural beauty of places like New Zealand or the Scottish highlands. Lush green rolling hills, secluded beaches, spectacular views and air as clean and crisp as you will find in the Philippines. I was super excited to book flights to Batanes and see if all this was true for myself.
